Day 1 : Flight / Mauna Kea volcano

Day 2 : Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Day 3 : Punalu’u Black Sand Beach / Green Sand Beach

Day 4 : Rainbow Falls / Pepe’ekeo Forest / Akaka Falls / Waipio Valley / Kua Bay

Day 5 : Magic Sand Beach

Day 6 : Back to Oahu

Mauna Kea Volcano

Drive up at the end of the afternoon to catch the sunset above the clouds, with views over Mauna Loa in eruption. 4WD mandatory, no exceptions. If you don’t have one, just ask other tourists to take you with them, that’s what we did.
